Advanced Security Specialisation
Summary:
The Cisco Advanced Security Specialization recognizes partners for
their knowledge and expertise in selling, designing, installing,
and supporting comprehensive, integrated network security
solutions. This specialization enables you to address a wide range
of customer needs--from enterprise-scale organizations to small and
medium-sized business (SMB) customers. The focus of the
specialization is on developing sales, technical, and services
capabilities that distinguish partners as being among the
industry's elite in providing integrated, collaborative, adaptive
security solutions.
The Cisco Self-Defending Network is a system
of solutions that uses the network to identify, respond, and adapt
to threats. The solution provides a common infrastructure that
integrates security throughout all aspects of the network and upon
which collaborative processes between the various security and
network elements and innovative technologies to adapt to new
threats are layered. Unlike any point solution or other networking
provider, the Cisco Self-Defending Network greatly simplifies the
security, network and business environment. Tighter integration
results in tighter security and greater security visibility across
the entire network. Partners who achieve the Advanced Security
Specialization have demonstrated their ability to deliver these
solutions.
To achieve a Advanced Security Specialization,
partners must fulfill each defined job role:
Account Manager,
Systems Engineer, and
Field Engineer. Role sharing allows an
individual to fulfill similar roles across 2 or more
specialisations. Cisco has reduced the number of unique individuals
required across Express, Advanced and Master Specialisations,
however, the total numbers of individuals required to achieve
each certification level remains unchanged.
Individuals cannot cross populate between job
roles
- An Account Manager (AM) may fulfil this role in
up to 4 Specialisations
- A Systems Engineer (SE) may fulfil this role in
up to 2 Specialisations
- A Field Engineer (FE) may fulfil this role in
up to 2 Specialisations
Note: Partners can only hold
a single specialization in a given technology. For example:
- A partner cannot hold a VPN/Security Specialisation
and an Advanced Security Specialisation
- If a partner achieves the Advanced Security Specialization
before their current VPN/Security Specialization expires, the
older specialization will be rendered invalid
